The Cobbler Finally Has Shoes

The new BrainstormOverload website is live at long last. Thanks to the tremendous efforts of developer Colin Petit for coding it up and figuring out all the java script madness and to my brother Jeff for early experiments with the navigation. It is amazing how complicated it is to make the interface so simple. There are one or two wrinkles to work out like integration with IE 6.0 and 7.0. But seriously you should not be using those crummy browsers anyway. Upgrade to Firefox , Safari or Chrome so you can start experiencing the internet the way we’ve actually designed it.

St. David's Launches

St. David’s Center in Minnesota has provided a supporting environment for children of all capabilities since 1965. It has been a great pleasure to design a new website to support their efforts. Along with my partners Jonathan Anderstrom and developer Colin Petit at Creed Interactive and photographer Josh Hackney we’re celebrating today’s launch.

Cheers.

Where the Wild things buy tickets

The MN Wild have a new Season Ticket Website today thanks to the efforts of the talented and handsome fellows over at Creed Interactive. Creed is on the rise and even has a press release posted. The site is built on the foundation established by the Sponsorship site I posted about back in July but ads some fun with full screen video that transitions into iconic photos. The Wild sells out every season so don’t delay. Oh, and you can win an official jersey autographed by the entire team which is cool if you look good in giant red and green shirts covered in sharpie marker.

One CLick Dog's Little Wheel

The World of Goo trailer hooked me with its, I’ll say it, emotionally moving music and visuals. Now comes One Click Dog’s online game Little Wheel. Thankfully the “Platoon” like soundtrack of World of Goo is replaced by mellow jazz, so I’m spared the quivering lip. I got sucked in by the first puzzle and plan to go back for more. Very smooth and cinematic. Cute and dark. Play it at FastGames.

Let the Wild rumpus begin

Wild Sponsorship

Creed Interactive just launched a new site for the MN Wild to help with the marketing of sponsorship opportunities. The small team consisted of the fabulous Andy Rakotz who took charge of flash development, audio and technical black magic while I did the creative direction, design, copywriting thing and Jonathan Anderstrom did everything necessary to prove a small start-up firm can land marquee clients and deliver exciting results. There are still a few small tweaks to make but it’s pretty cool to see it live at last. So that’s what I’ve been doing with myself. Well, that and making bean bags but that’s another post.

SUPER FUN HAPPY DOWNLOAD

I always check the Resources section of Communication Arts first for tips and treats. This one’s mostly treat from the March/April 2009 issue. You can download a Poladroid camera onto your desktop, then drag jpegs onto it and snap zing—-you’re watching a polaroid picture develop before your very eyes! All ghosty and blurry and warm. The picture above was generated from this original posted on redblackbrown in October.

Start poken

This cute little dude (a Poken) stores your social networking/business contact information and can trade it with other people’s little dudes by executing the above illustrated high five. Blinky blinky and bam, you’ll never have to shout “Is that smoochiehoochie345@gmail.com with ie’s or y’s?” at Cocktails with Creatives again.

Created by these guys but explained a little better and sold by these guys.

Yanking its arm out of its socket reveals a USB plug.
