Frivolous Friday : Alison Beattie
It’s friday again! Which means more frivolousness. This time we sat down with lovely designer, gocco-er, painter and Scot, Alison Beattie. Alison is an interactive designer at Colle+McVoy, where she has the dubious privilege of sharing a wall with me. Here are some of the things Alison has been working on recently:

What’s your favorite time of day?
Right at that point in the afternoon where the sun is just setting and things turn orangey-pink.
What do you collect?
Paper, patterns, dunnies, recipes and blogs.
What are you going to do next?
I’m building a studio in my new house, with screen printing capabilities. I want to do more hand crafted cards, and wedding stationery. Also learn to properly code with css + html!
Five things that made you happy this week?
1. My husband cooking several yummy dinners.
2. Listening to MGMT and the Ting Tings.
3. An exciting project at Colle+McVoy.
4. Purchasing a url for my upcoming ventures in screenprinting.
5. Being asked to be on redblackbrown’s Frivolous Friday spot! You guys rock my wee world!

Today starts what will be an ongoing series of silly friday questions. This week we asked our random questions of talented local art director Allan Peters. Allan currently works at Proximity Minneapolis where he designs lovely things like these:

I’ve got a whole toolbox full. I try not to use the same ones too often.
What animal would you like to be?
I don’t want to be an animal.
What’s your favorite smell?
I like the smell in the air before it rains.
