happiness = type + jewelry

it’s a pretty simple equation, isn’t it? colleen sent me a link to plastique’s etsy shop, which is filled with these fabulous creations. colleen says that she’s digging the helvetica nexklance. personally, i am a sucker for the apple-z necklace above, since i would very much like that option in real life.

The Wedding is in the Bag

In just over a week I’ll be getting married. One of many things I’ve enjoyed making in preparation for the celebration is a set of bean bag toss boards and these whimsical, monster adorned, bean bags. I was going to do an alien abduction story played out in series across the four bags but Cindy suggested I consider something slightly less scary (for the kids and all). So, here they are in all their slightly less scary glory.

For some reason I find it mildly amusing that there is an American Cornhole Association but I’m glad there is so I could get the official specifications. And, now you can too and your life will be complete.

Start poken

This cute little dude (a Poken) stores your social networking/business contact information and can trade it with other people’s little dudes by executing the above illustrated high five. Blinky blinky and bam, you’ll never have to shout “Is that smoochiehoochie345@gmail.com with ie’s or y’s?” at Cocktails with Creatives again.

Created by these guys but explained a little better and sold by these guys.

Yanking its arm out of its socket reveals a USB plug.

Valentine's Gift Idea #1

Polaroid PoGo brings back instant gratification. For a cool hundo your main squeeze can pack some mini printer heat in that Freitag and transfer those sweet emo designy shots in their Nokia on to a page in their battered moleskin. Or just buy the ZINK paper and do some heat doodles over a sensible prix fixe meal.

hershberger's baker basket

‘tis the season for bikes, if the number of cycle-related posts here on redblackbrown in the last couple of weeks is any indication. the lovely hershberger’s baker baskets are made by an amish family in rural minnesota. beautiful, local, rather affordable and available online from velo orange. wouldn’t it be prefect on a vintage schwinn?

Sweet Japanese Toy designs.

I think every kid who grew up when Big was well, big, wanted to design toys. Which is why I think I love these old Japanese toy designs so much. They’re so simple but I love the way the artist drew each one so meticulously.

There are even more, here and here
