I was trolling on the urban outfitters website looking at their diana cameras when I ran across the Fuji Instax Camera.
Perhaps I am just slow and late, but is this an alternative to the fast disappearing polaroid? I’m not sure how long Fuji plans on making their instax film but certainly if all the polaroid users jumped over to the instax, it’d certainly give them a reason to keep going….
(plus the cameras are pretty sweet looking)

I’ve never made a pinhole camera but after seeing these papercraft pinholes I’m really tempted to give it a shot. Perhaps this will be my weekend project. I don’t think I’m quite ready for this one but perhaps one of these is within my reach.

Such pretty photographs by ngoc minh ngo

Whilst grabbing a sandwich over at OneOnOne yesterday I chanced to bump into Rolf Hagberg who is a local photographer currently exploring an interest in bicycle inspired art. He’s working on a cool series of abstract and energetic images of bike wheels that are pretty cool even if you don’t dig cycling (and really…who doesn’t dig cycling!). Check it out.

This might just be the thing I give up my Lumix for. So pretty and probably so much less expensive than the Leicas I’ve been lusting after. Of course, we’ll have to see about the images but still, pretty hot little camera body.
(thanks for the tip, gordon!)

I am a rabid flickr enthusiast. So it should be no surprise that their blog is one of my daily reads. Recently they posted about two things that I think are amazingly awesome and just had to share with all of you.
1) They posted photobikes made by uncommon projects which take pictures as you ride them, then automatically upload and geotag them to your location. Such an interesting idea.
The UP people are looking into developing a DIY solution so perhaps next summer I’ll be able to flickrbike around Minneapolis. It’d be cool to see what I leave in my wake.
2) In an effort to promote the use of film in a rapidly digitizing world they’ve created a group called the Film Fancier’s Guild and added a film specific explore category to their site called Explore Analog.
This excites me of course because I just purchased my first film camera in awhile. A little Argus 75 Medium format camera. So soon I will be able to participate in the film scene. (Now if only I could find where my holga went…)

i don’t know much about robert reader, but i love his work, probably because the desaturated colors of his polaroids make me feel like i’m lost in some vintage world. they are just so very lovely.
