Have you played with this yet? It’s pretty awesome. It pulls images from flickr based on the colors you pick (up to 10). I wasted way more time than I should have playing with it.

Here’s the perfect thing for a friday. What’s your color IQ? I didn’t do horrible, but I didn’t do great. 32.

Apparently T-Mobile is trying to copyright the color magenta. Although I don’t typically design in magenta, I’d like to have the option. Perhaps I will sign the petition and help save magenta for designers everywhere.

Joanna Goddard of A Cup of Jo wrote a great article for New York Magazine about New Yorkers who only wear one (or two) colors. I’m not familiar with all of the people but my favorite outlandish designer, Karim Rashid, was one of the interviewees. You can read it, here.
thinking about publications and color

like zara, i’ve been thinking about publications. more specifically, i’ve been thinking about color and it’s use in said publications. i love the bold, unexpected color combinations here.
via ffffound, of course.

i know, i know, as design goes, my love for birds is so 2006. and i know that last year deer became the new bird and that for this year, owls are the new deer, but i just can’t help the fact that i still love birds.
but maybe in this case it’s less about the birds and more about the fantastic color and glorious composition? maybe i read too many transcendentalists as an undergrad and my love for birds is symptomatic of me searching for a connection to nature via design? or maybe i’m just a sappy romantic?
either way, this image is very dear. via ffffound.
