if you have little ones to buy gifts for this holiday season, it is definitely worth your while to check out tinywarbler designs at etsy for seriously adorable handmade softies. kate, the brains behind the little sweeties, also keeps a blog here.

this saturday and sunday is the 7th annual book arts festival at mcba. lots of lovely handmade books, journals, prints and papers. perfect for stocking up on holiday presents!

oh my. i came across the gorgeous jewelry of luxe deluxe last week and actually felt my knees go weak. so very weak, in fact, that i sent a link to my husband (who i had told never to bother with jewelry for me). and being the fantastic, wonderful person that he is, he bought me three (yes! three!) necklaces. i know, i know. i am too lucky.
anyways, luxe deluxe’s creator, adrienne morikawa, is based in edinburgh and mixes lovely vintage bits with new materials. each piece is handmade and even more beautiful in person. you can purchase via the luxe deluxe site or etsy.

amy armato of armato design & press has bunches of delightful letterpressed cards for the holidays and everyday. she does custom letterpress, will be at no coast craft-o-rama in december and is a truly great person too (really, i know these things, i went to college with her). the portable mistletoe card (above) is so much fun. just imagine the possibilities!

oh, my. such beautiful calligraphy from love jenna. go and have a look. i promise it’s worth it.
building it green in minneapolis

about a week ago, i awoke to mpr and cathy wurzer (affectionately known in our house as “the wurz”) interviewing a minneapolis homeowner, salena gallo, about her new home, the highest-rated LEED certified home in minnesota. it’s amazing. shelter is the firm responsible for the beautiful design, john dwyer was the principal architect. shelter has a beautiful slide show here and you can hear the mpr piece here. wow. so gorgeous.

okay, i’ll admit that in the weeks leading up to the election, i was rather obsessed with the new york times electoral college and poll graphics. i mean, who doesn’t love great info graphics? and then i came across this version by writer chris harris and designer stephanie chen. it’s pretty much awesome.
