If you’re like me, first of all sorry, secondly, that means one of your greatest fears is proclaiming your love for a non-western typographic work only to be informed that it’s a particular culture’s version of comic sans. Eeek!
I did a post a while back on the book Arabesque Graphics which dealt a little bit with this phobia. Unfortunately it meant buying a book.
But now there’s CreativeRoots. An intrepid daily blog that pulls design inspiration from across the globe, much of it featuring type. Give it a go.

Fashions at their lowest ebb are fashions about to be reborn. Comic Sans is currently at (or near) its moment of maximum wackness (MMW) so it is correspondingly at its ripest moment for recontextualization.
The same holds true for the worst font in Thailand (WFT). If you could actually identify the exact single-worst font in all of Thailand, then that would be EXACTLY the font you should steal. Stealing from the worst puts you in a position to ride the wave all the way back up. Stealing from the best only puts you on the ride back down.
