I am a rabid flickr enthusiast. So it should be no surprise that their blog is one of my daily reads. Recently they posted about two things that I think are amazingly awesome and just had to share with all of you.
1) They posted photobikes made by uncommon projects which take pictures as you ride them, then automatically upload and geotag them to your location. Such an interesting idea.
The UP people are looking into developing a DIY solution so perhaps next summer I’ll be able to flickrbike around Minneapolis. It’d be cool to see what I leave in my wake.
2) In an effort to promote the use of film in a rapidly digitizing world they’ve created a group called the Film Fancier’s Guild and added a film specific explore category to their site called Explore Analog.
This excites me of course because I just purchased my first film camera in awhile. A little Argus 75 Medium format camera. So soon I will be able to participate in the film scene. (Now if only I could find where my holga went…)
