A couple of weeks ago I was contacted by the guys running the Manifest Hope Gallery (how that happened is an incredibly random series of events that just reaffirms my love of the randomness of the web) asking if I would be willing to put an obama-themed illustration that I had done into their show.
To which I replied, um yes, hell yes, are you serious? um yes.
To say I was in shock would be an understatement considering my piece is going to be shown next to pieces by people like shepard fairey, david choe, gary baseman, and my favorite artist, sam flores.
So yeah. Crazy honored to have that opportunity.
Unfortunately I can’t go, so if any of you happen to live in the Denver area and want to make this Minnesota gal happy, stop by and take some pics?
Here are the details for the show:
The Manifest Hope Gallery will be open to the public in Denver, CO at the Democratic National Convention, between Monday August 25th, 2008 through Thursday, August 28th, 2008 between the hours of 10:00 am – 5:00 pm.
Manifest Hope Gallery
2990 Larimer Street

And here’s the piece I did (the one I sent is a digital print embellished by a bit of hand sewing)

Way to go Zara! It was fun watching your reaction when you found out. :)
